Jesus fashioned a whip and with it drove the temple clean. The temple is to be a house of prayer. Just as Jesus referred to Himself as the Temple, I also am a temple, and therefore I also must be a house of prayer.

My prayer is that Jesus would drive off every distraction and every sin from my soul, in order that I may rest in Him alone.

In the distant, calm, pale center of the painting, is the Holy Eucharist. Jesus clears our path by forgiveness, leads us to God, and unites with us in the Eucharist as the one Temple of God.
